Organic Maple
Maple syrup is one of this products we may take for granted - a sweet, natural syrup that comes in a fancy glass bottle that we can pour over pancakes. However, the story of how it gets from the tree to your table is one of continual invention, ingenuity and determination. The story started centuries ago when the natives of north eastern Canada and the US discovered that by cutting a notch into a Maple tree, sweet sap would flow and could be collected and reduced down into an even sweeter syrup. By the 1600's, early European settlers introduced copper kettles to slightly quicken the reduction of 40 litres of sap to 1 litre of syrup. The ingenuity and invention relating to reducing this "liquid gold" have continued to this day. This tea needs no further explanation - we take high grown Organic Orange Pekoe Black Tea and blend it with natural flavours and a hint of Organic Maple Syrup for you to enjoy!
Excellent hot or over ice, prepare this delight using fresh filtered (if possible) water brought to the boil. Steep for 3 - 5 minutes. For iced tea, add less boiling water then dilute with ice and cold water to taste. Do yourself a favour and try it "straight up" first, then sweeten or make any additions to taste.
